The debate on the relationship between the quality and the free access to information has been raging since the dawn of the Internet and the advent of social media, which have profoundly transformed the media landscape. For media outlets, this situation remains a major problem today, as they encounter difficulties in finding the ideal economic model, oscillating between paid subscriptions and advertiser-funded content. Although, at first glance, consumers favor free access, it is not without disadvantages.
Indeed, it compromises editorial independence, encouraging media to moderate their content and to favor topics that align with advertisers' interests, to the detriment of the public interest. In this context, vulnerability to fluctuations in advertising revenue exerts financial pressures that can alter the quality of journalism.
Nevertheless, most major media outlets offer monthly subscriptions exceeding 10 euros without providing a real journalistic opposition, which is essential for quality information. They do not meet the needs of consumers.
To provide an effective solution to these challenges, we firmly believe in adopting a free-access model for our users. However, this free approach should never compromise the fundamental principle that journalistic work deserves fair and equitable compensation.
Therefore, once our platform is firmly established, our goal is to ensure that every publication, regardless of its format, generates income for journalists through integrated advertising. This strategy will notably involve simplifying the value chain, thus guaranteeing fair compensation for journalism professionals while maintaining high-quality information for our users
